Dance Acro Workshop

Aimed at dancers, circus athletes and gymnasts to work on their floor-based acrobatic skills.

What's involved?

This class is a 2 hour special workshop aimed to assist young dancers, circus athletes and gymnasts with their floor-based acrobatic skills. This class is a great way to practice more advanced acro skills using the sprung floor, trampolines and foam pit, as well as boxes and shapes to assist with lead-up drills. Skills covered will include: - Walkovers (forward, backward and tic-toc) - Back handspring (and connections from cartwheel) - Side aerial (aerial cartwheel) Pre-requisite skills include bridge, bridge kick-over, handstand and cartwheel. Each dancer, athlete and gymnast should be able to complete these skills before attending the Dance Acro Workshop*. This session will be led by Emma Darcy, Advanced Silver Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) Coach and Physiotherapist, and Stephanie Donnon, Intermediate WAG Coach, KinderGym Leader, and Dance Acro instructor. Emma and Steph will be assisted by Breanna Trehearne, Intermediate WAG Coach. Bre was part of the Koorana Level 9 WAG team to achieve 3rd place at the National Club Championships in 2022. We are excited to launch this special workshop these April school holidays! Ideal for children aged 8-14 years old. *If you're not quite able to master these skills on your own, our MasterClass holiday clinic is a great option instead, as we work on these skills (bridge, handstand, cartwheel) to build a solid foundation.
